This one took a little longer than I thought it would. I made it entirely in photoshop using a tablet and found images (the bike tire is a squished tractor tire for example) i'm pretty happy with how it came out but want to try and get back to using physical media in my next projects.

I'm still gathering props and scouting locations for my second animation for tower 8. This one's gonna use a lot more film and stop motion animation as a base with subtler effects and compositing. here's a couple of concepts from a scene that takes place inside a classroom desk's book space.

I've gone away from photographic collages like these ones from a couple years ago in my work recently. I think its poorer for it. I want to work from material and collage rather than create images out of nothing like i've been doing for the characters in my recent animation. next animation i do i'm gonna film people and puppets and go from there

still from when the roadie falls. I cobbled together a swimming animation from the hand drawn dive bit and some cutout motions then mixed them with the 3d bunny and water effects.

Its been a long time coming, but these are the latest from my ALMOST finished animation. look for tower 8 to go live early august. These images are collaged from hand drawn ink, paint, photoshop, 3d maya renders, video, photos... you name it

I spent this weekend working on a new scene in the animation (brief clip here) and Gavin got a plugin working that helps sync movement to the beat. Next stop, rotoscoping.

Here's one more piece of concept art from the animation I'm working on with Gavin Brown, Mike Ashton, and Sadie Barchini. We're all back at school now so we're starting in earnest. We'll be getting credit for it as an independent study. Check out Gavin's fabulous newest mix of one of the band's songs.

Skyrocket Post Mortem

I just realized that the website I designed for the band Skyrocket has gone off the air. I'm putting it here for posterity and to showcase the nifty mechanical design. This was the first flash website i ever made. You can still also see their purevolume page (which 30,000 people have visited to hear the music) at www.purevolume.com/skyrocket. Gavin, the lead singer from Skyrocket, is writing and producing the music for my current animation project.

My modern culture and media class just introduced me to a great blog www.boingboing.net where i found this ad.
keep in mind, I've always loved bouncy balls, I tried this on a much smaller scale at six flags magic mountain. I think I had around 150 though, instead of the 250,000 of them were used to make this. atleast people got to wander through my creation. http://www.bravia-advert.com/
